I’ve never inserted anything down the end of my penis before testing the E-Stim Ultrasound Micro, even less thought about passing an electric current through my cock. But to test this particular sex toy that’s exactly what’s going to happen.

When embarking on any sort of sex play it’s imperative that you understand what you are doing and of course read the instructions. The instructions provided with the Ultrasound are clear and comprehensive covering both use and care of the device. This is as you would expect from E-Stim who are experts in the field of electrosex/electro-stim devices.

The packaging is quite industrial, as is the case with other E-Stim Systems’ products, evoking a feeling of “this device means business”. The two-piece screw-together black plastic case is practical, durable and makes unpacking the device part of the experience.

Inspection of the device is particularly important before use because while it comes from the manufacturer in an immaculate, mirror chrome finish a metal object like this can still be damaged. Therefore the manual urges you that as well as cleaning the E-Stim Ultrasound before use you should check it thoroughly for damage such as nicks of scratches. You’re about to insert this into a thin, delicate tube inside your body so the last thing you want is a cut or tear in your urethra. You should of course use lubricant with the E-Stim Ultrasound Micro urethral sound because the urethra itself has no natural lubrication. The one I chose was E-Stim System’s own “Electrogel”, however any water based lubricant should do the trick. More about Electrogel in a later review.

E-Stim Ultrasounds are monopole electrodes, meaning you need to use another electrode to complete the circuit and make your electro-stim experience work. You can use a pad such as those provided with your basic E-Stim power box, a rubber cock loop or cock strap. I chose a loop at the base of my penis, lubed with Electrogel and connected this to one electrode of the power lead. Then, applying a blob of Electrogel to the tip of the E-Stim Ultrasound I introduced it to the opening of my urethra. I was cautious, being my first time, allowing about 40mm of the sound’s 75mm length to enter my penis before it seemed to come to a natural stop. I then attached the second wire from the power lead.

Checking the power box was turned off first I connected the power lead to it and began to experiment. Low power first of course, slowly building until the almost imperceptible tingling became a sensation that felt like tiny pebbles driven by a rush of water flowing down my urethra. I have synaesthesia so I also sense colour at this point, blacks and electric blues running along my shaft. Sadly even the experts at E-Stim can’t provide everyone with the multi-coloured accompaniment, it’s a result of my synaesthesia, but I’ve mentioned it for completeness.

One thing I should note is that the stimulation you feel from using the E-Stim Ultrasound Micro urethral sound and a cock strap is that the stimulation is purely electrical. Because you don’t experience the involuntary muscle contractions associated with stimulation across other areas (there is of course no muscle in the penis itself) there’s no distraction from the feeling of current coruscating through your tissues.

Using the E-Stim Ultrasound Micro was a double revelation for me because it was the first time I’d tried a urethral sound and the first time I’d applied electrical stimulation to my penis in that way. Personally I can’t say it was sexually arousing in itself but it was an interesting experience and new, interesting experiences should always be valued.  From an objective, sex toy testing point of view I have to say that the quality of the product cannot be questioned and with the E-Stim Ultrasound Micro and its bigger siblings anyone into urethral play will love the E-Stim Ultrasound urethral sounds.
