Drive Me Crazy Glass Dildo
Drive Me Crazy Glass Dildo

When I got a Drive Me Crazy Glass Dildo to test from the Fifty Shades of Grey range of sex toys I thought to myself, I’ll not argue with that. After all testing sex toys is what I do so I eagerly unwrapped this new sex toy when it arrived.

The thing about glass sex toys is that they are very practical in several ways – easy to clean being non porous, in fact if you aren’t happy with cleaning them with soap and water or a sex toy cleaner you can even boil a glass dildo to sterilise it. Glass sex toys can also be heated or cooled before use to vary your experience of using them. I chose to wash and dry my toy then pop it in the fridge for an hour before I began to play.

It didn’t take me an hour to find out all the toys features:

  • It’s made of glass
  • It’s 20cm long and 9cm in circumference
  • The head is a little bulbous like the head of a penis and the shaft has a row of rounded bumps along the inside edge of the dildo’s slight curve. The other end has a more rounded double bulb thingy that you could also use for penetration.
  • It has Fifty Shades of Grey etched into the base in case you forgot which range it belongs to.

You see I told you it didn’t take long. Worth noting is that I didn’t say it was Borosilicate Glass. Many of the glass dildos I have tested are made from this slightly more expensive glass, the same material that the glass cookware and measuring jugs you have are. I can find no mention of this in the manual. This matters because Borosilicate Glass holds lube better, is tougher and more resistant to thermal shock (it doesn’t shatter as easily if you heat it up or cool it down quickly). This glass dildo may be made from Borosilicate glass, but I can’t see anything that tells me it is.

Another thing to note is that despite coming in undamaged packaging this dildo had light but noticeable scratches along one side and on the base. Maybe due to mishandling at the factory. It also has a couple of imperfections in the moulding that spoil the look of the sex toy. So I would have to describe the quality of this glass dildo as adequate, not exceptional.

The accompanying manual gives you satisfactory and brief instructions on cleaning, use and care of the toy, including advice on ensuring you are adequately lubricated when using it. Well, there’s never any shortage of lube in this house but it wasn’t needed today. While the dildo cooled I had been watching a brand new porn DVD that I’ve been sent for review which had left me naturally slippery 😉

When I slipped the chilly shaft of the Drive Me Crazy Dildo into me my body’s first reaction was to shudder. As soon as the cold hard glass touched my hot, wet labia I tensed up but with 30 degrees of heat because of a very un-British summer I forced myself to relax so I could enjoy this cool, hard phallus to the max. I immediately noticed that the curve of the dildo is subtle but effective because it ensures that the row of lovely bobbles on the surface of the glass rub the front wall of your vagina, particularly at the entrance as you slide it in and out. The “head” of the dildo is not huge so all but the most petite of girls will be able to accommodate it and enjoy it rubbing up against your G Spot.

The chill of the glass inside my pussy was such a welcome relief from the hot, sticky day that I did relax very quickly and experimented with different angles. Thrusting the dildo in and out at differing speeds provided a range of stimulation, though for me it would never blow my socks off. Even if I had been wearing any this afternoon Lol

What was nice was when I pushed the “handle” of the dildo down towards my ass so that my thrusts rubbed harder on my G Spot. With a little more curve I may have been able to take myself to a full G Spot orgasm with the dildo alone. But instead I had to grab my trusty clit vibe from the drawer and let the two toys work together to make my toes curl.

I forgot to mention earlier that you also get a Fifty Shades of Grey drawstring bag to keep you glass dildo in if you don’t want to keep it in the box. The bag is huge and looks like it might have been made for a bigger item?

While I can say that this is a very useable glass dildo it isn’t anything out of the ordinary. It would be nice if someone could let me know if this actually Borosilicate glass, but that would still not change the fact that overall I found the quality and presentation of the dildo a little disappointing. The outer box is nicely printed in the FSOG style, though a little boring and the inner box is decent quality too. Maybe a case of paying for the Fifty Shades branding rather than that little extra care in putting the product together?
