To title a sex toy review as “Iconic” you have to be a) pretty sure the sex toy is iconic, of b) have a sex toy that claims to be iconic. Well in this case it’s the latter. And in my opinion the Jimmyjane Iconic cock ring is not iconic, and that’s not a bad thing at all.
You see Iconic can be defined as “Having a conventional formulaic style” which is not such a great thing when it comes to cock rings as I find many of them rather difficult to use, either because they are too tight, made of the wrong materials or just don’t add anything to sex.
This JimmyJane Cock Ring is not that average cock ring but one that while being quite simple in design does have features which separate if from the rest:
- It’s nice and stretchy so it fits most men, giving support to pretty much everyone – so you are aided in maintaining an erection but not garrotted by it if you have a large girth.
- Is easy to clean because the vibrating bullet is removable which leaves the rest of the toy free to be thoroughly cleansed.
- Runs on cheap and easy to replace button cells not exotic or non-replaceable batteries.
- Has two modes, continuous and touch activated, the latter of which means the ring reacts to you as you thrust into your partner.
Here’s the one criticism I have of the JimmyJane Iconic Cock Ring. When the people at JimmyJane designed the packaging they forgot one thing, a small paper disk to isolate the batteries in transit. If they had done this (as is common practice with most toys that are pre-installed with batteries) mine wouldn’t have arrived with flat batteries! This is odd as the rest of the packaging is both attractive and fully recyclable, being made of card not moulded plastic.
After buying some more batteries …
The vibrating unit is simple and quite compact. Even inside the cock ring it’s not fully waterproof, though is water resistant enough to cope with liberal applications of lube, just don’t use this one in the bathroom.
The first step to trying this cock ring was to install the batteries and try it in pressure activated mode. I found that despite it being easy to activate the bullet with the slightest of touches of my finger something about the positioning of the pressure switch made using it in this mode less than successful. I never seemed to come into contact with Suze in quite the right place and rarely triggered the vibrations when we could both enjoy them.
So I changed to constant vibrating mode (which is possible without removing the bullet from the cock ring) and found the results much more effective. With the vibrations on all the time we were able to writhe and cavort to our hearts content in all sorts of positions to find the best one for the cock ring. Eventually we settled on good old missionary as this allowed me to place the bullet above my cock and rub it against Suze’s clit most easily.
As I said at the beginning, not a run of the mill cock ring, but then again not the worst we’ve tried either. It’s nicely built, though the pressure activated mode is a bit hit and miss, and nicely packaged in a compact box that would be good for storage (with the batteries removed). Worth considering if you don’t want a gaudy bargain basement cock ring.
