Most couples have tried a little bondage in the bedroom. However progressing beyond a little improvised restraint can be a bit daunting so it’s great that the market now offers a wide range of what at first might appear to be soft introductions to bondage. I say at first because many of the products, like this one, are actually suited to the beginner and the more experienced user.

Although the rope isn’t actually silk it is soft and silky. It’s joined by being melted together which has two consequences, the joint is covered by a plastic sleeve to cover the resulting hard edges and prevent the joint scratching you and when you first get the cuffs out of the box they smell of burnt plastic. This aroma immediately begins to dissipate but it was a bit off-putting at first.

The locking mechanism of the cuffs is provided by two sturdy plastic buckles with nice rounded edges. They are easy to tighten and release.

What you don’t get with this toy is the “ancient art of Japanese bondage without having to be an expert”. Japanese bondage is a skill and an art that requires knotting of rope, patience and practice. That’s not a criticism of the toy, just the hype of the package. This is a very practical toy with a variety of uses.

The packaging shows a pair of rope cuffs with a long pair of ropes joining them. About twice the actual length of rope that the cuffs come with. Not a big criticism but relevant if you intended to use them specifically as ankle cuffs – in which case you would not get the range of movement the box illustration depicts. In fact on a normal set of wrists/ankles you get 10 to 12 inches of rope between the cuffs.

Wearing these cuffs you can get them quite tight so beware, but they are easy to release so that’s not going to cause you too many problems. They are soft on the skin and very, very strong. The synthetic rope used in them would probably be strong enough to light a fridge so it feels the part and is not going to snap in the bedroom. Soft, strong, just not as long as the picture on the box LOL

You could combine two sets of these cuffs, looping one through the other to gently hog tie someone or simply experiment with one set to help manipulate your partner. And afterwards the only signs that you’ve been a bit kinky are rather nice impressions in their skin that soon fade.

This isn’t a set for the hardcore BDSM practitioner, it’s more for couples who want a quality, easy to use set of restraints that is strong and relatively gently on the skin. The softness of the rope and the strength of the construction means that all but the most demanding of users will find this set of rope restraints an ideal accompaniment to their bedroom bondage fantasies.
