My sex toy review of the Tenga Flip Hole can be found here. This new reusable masturbator from Tenga has a lot to live up to, coming from the world renown Tenga stable. What it immediately does have over most of their other products is that aforementioned reusability.
Unlike its direct predecessor the Tenga Flip Hole, the Flip Air masturbator is much easier to hold when you are using it. But just like the Flip Hole this masturbator consists of a hard outer shell and a soft jelly plastic inner. Jelly plastic in cheaper toys rings alarm bells as at the bargain-basement end of the market jelly toys can be sticky, smelly and contain phthalates. Not the Tenga, the interior of the Tenga Flip Air is made from an inert, body friendly elastomer that is totally body friendly.
Within this soft ersatz vagina you will find some very un-vagina like structures. Ribs, bobbles, bumps and ridges inside the interior of this Tenga masturbator are made to stimulate not to emulate.
The end cap of the Tenga slips off before use and is reversed to leave the entrance open and still hold the two halves of the clamshell case together. The base is also recommended as a stand for drying the toy after use. The hard case has two buttons which are pressed to allow air to escape as your penis enters the toy, then released to seal it when you withdraw and create a vacuum. That way you get a sucking sensation as your cock leaves the toy.
That’s the theory anyway.
In fact the Tenga Flip Air Solid is quite firm and even with the buttons pressed I found it quite hard to push myself inside. The supplied lube is quite viscous so I used some more liquid water based lube that helped my movements. Because of the tight fit I experienced less sensation than someone with a slightly smaller penis would enjoy. I’m 7.5 inches in length with a corresponding proportionate girth and the Tenga Flip Air will accommodate a 6.5 inch penis.
Then there’s the noise. When you use a masturbator you have to use lubricant so there’s always a bit of squelching. But like the Fleshlight this male masturbator makes a lot of noise when you are using it; Squelching, sucking, slurping and hissing at quite a high volume means that it is in no way a discrete sex toy!
Everything about this toy is quality from the sleek black case to the ease of cleaning (everything is nicely finished so there are not places for dirt to accumulate). It is self contained when stored and even left out in plain sight it would be overlooked as a large can of male grooming product by anyone coming across it. Tenga say it will last for around 50 uses, dependant on how “vigorous” you are and I suspect the point of failure will be the full-length plastic hinge on the case – maybe a deliberate design decision??? Still it’s far cheaper than any of their disposable offerings over the lifetime of the toy.
I really like the Tenga Flip Air hole but for me it could have been a little longer and a lot quieter. That said it does the job and I’ll be enjoying it again.
